Mechanism of action:

Calcium propionate is an acid-type feed preservative, which produces free propionic acid under acidic conditions and has antibacteria effect. The antibacterial effect was affected by the pH value of the environment, and the inhibitory effect of mold was the best at pH5.0. At pH 6.0. the inhibitory capacity decreased, and the minimum inhibitory concentration was 0.01%. in the acidic medium (starch,protein and oil substances) to all kinds of molds, gram-negative bacteria or aerobic bacillus has a strong inhibitory effect, can also inhibit the production of aflatoxin, and is harmless to yeast, harmless to humans and animals, non-toxic side effects. it is a new, safe and efficient anti-mildew agent for feed storage.
